LUGANSK STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY - "APPLY NOW"

A clinic for students and workers was organized at the University as a rehabilitation and recreation center to provide for the set of sportive, diagnostic and curing procedures. Now 108 specialists work at the policlinic, including doctors, middle-rank personnel and junior workers. Besides, there is a commercial sector of orthopedics stomatology with 12 specialists.

The polyclinic consists of the following sectors: administrative/managerial, medical statistics and information, surgery, therapeutically, prophylactic, rehabilitative treatment, auxiliary/diagnostic sectors, the shop for repair and maintenance of medical equipment, the commercial sector of orthopedic stomatology.

Generally the polyclinic works on the 6-working-day scheme, on Saturday the therapeutics are on duty and the rehabilitation sector has its standard working day. The reception is carried on by two shifts. The University professors and teachers provide consultation reception.

Every year the clinic's doctor specialists fulfill the medical examination of the students. As instructed by the Rector, planned compulsory prophylactic examinations of the students, learners of the Medico-biological Lyceum and the preliminary department, foreign students, the University workers are carried out with participation of all the doctor specialists.

In the system of treatment, rehabilitation and medical check-ups an important role is played by the rehabilitation sector which consists of 2 physiotherapeutic subdivisions, rehabilitative physical training subdivision, rehabilitation/recreation subdivision. It provides the following procedures: paraffm/ozokerite/mud-treatment, all kinds of electrical/light radiation treatment, laser therapy, magnetic therapy, electrically stimulated sleep, vacuum therapy, barotherapy, under-water vertical stretching of the spinal column, contrast massage, reflex therapy, whirl bath, curing baths (aromatic, pearl etc.), 4-chamber bath, under-water massaging shower, curing showers (Charcot, ascending etc.), inhalation, mechanotherapy, individual physical training, hydrokinezotherapy, autotraining, individual and group psychotherapy, hyperbaric oxygenation.

The treatment/rehabilitation measures include the usage sanatoria, preventory sanatoria, rehabilitation/recreation sectors, diets etc. Annually about 1000 University workers and students take treatment and prophylactic measures at preventory sanatoria. Now the polyclinic is enhancing the use of the electronic management system for operation of the oxigenobarotherapy and hipotherapy center, orthopedic stomatology division.
